Haiti - Politic : Laurent Lamothe has no plans to run for president...
Laurent Lamothe, who announced on the night from Saturday to Sunday his resignation as Prime Minister and that of his government, https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12727-haiti-flash-resignation-of-laurent-lamothe-and-his-ministers.html was in his office on Monday, to liquidate the current business.

According to our information, the Head of Government resigned, has not yet informed the President Martelly, if he intended to stay in office until the designation and ratification of his successor.

Furthermore, Lucien Jura, spokesman of the presidency, indicated Monday that Laurent Lamothe had not yet sent his resignation letter to the President of the Republic, stating "In principle the President will accept his resignation."

"I made the ultimate sacrifice for the country to move forward and to respect the findings of an independent commission set up by president," declared on Monday he Prime Minister in an interview with the AP, adding that he had no plans to run for president.

In another interview with the Miami Herald, he declared "Now I am moving on to the next chapter. For now, the immediate chapter is to take some rest and spend some time with my kids [...] do some lectures and seminars at Harvard," adding "We wanted to show people what progress was happening in the country and of course that led to a misperception that I am trying to run for president [...]."

One thing is certain is that 48 hours after his resignation, the crisis is not yet resolved and the the future uncertain, this is probably the only answer tha could give Laurent Lamothe. Now for what will really be its positions in the future, it will be necessary to wait and see... There is still many months before the Presidential election and as we all know here in Haiti "everything is possible, even the impossible..."
