Haiti - Economy : The President Martelly invited Haitians to change their behavior...

Tuesday at the Ritz Kinam, the President Michel Martelly, participated in the workshop (December 15-16) on the business support system in Haiti and to the launch of Support Programmes to the Modernization of Enterprises (PAME) and of support for micro-enterprises (PSME).

In the presence of representatives of the World Bank, the Government of Japan, public finance institutions and civil society, including the Industrial Development Fund (IDF), the Head of State praised the efforts of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, that encourages through this program to create jobs and wealth, the dynamization and effectiveness of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). He took the opportunity to encourage local production and consumption and finally invited Haitians to change of behavior vis-à-vis the development of Haiti.

For his part, Wilson Laleau, the Minister of Trade and Industry, recalled that the PAME aims to increase investment, productivity and job creation in MSMEs, by providing support services and training to companies. The Ministry, under the terms of this program aims to improve access to credit to MSMEs, enhance their capacity for technical and commercial management, optimize performance and increase their ability to repay.
