Haiti - Politic : The Administrative Information Centre is open to the public
The Administrative Information Centre (CRA) launched recently, is part of the state modernization effort undertaken by the government. It aims to improve the relationship between public institutions and the citizens. It is a computerized system for all citizens as users of public services. It also serves as a gateway to government ministries and public organizations. This system provides the general administrative information on these institutions to citizens who request them (by telephone, Internet or locally) on administrative circuits to be used to obtain a quality public service and the costs estimated for the services sought. The services offered by the CRA are free.

According Uder Antoine, General Coordinator of the Office of Management and Human Resources (OMRH) the access to public services remained until now a citizen dissatisfaction points. The latter often complained of the labyrinth in which they met when they were required to obtain any service provided by the state and did not have enough information on the steps to take, hence the necessity to establish a Information center.

For his part, Gilles Damais, Chief Operating Officer of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), expressed his satisfaction to see this project succeed. IDB-financed to the tune of 900,000 US dollars, he presented the CRA as "a system falling within sustainable development called to propel the administrative reform."

For his part, Ronald Décembre, the Secretary for Tax Reform, who represented the Minister of Economy at the launch declared "the creation of this Centre should contribute to the quality of services offered to the population [... ] it should also
result in institutional cooperation for the reliability of the information that will be shared with the public."

The Secretary General of the Prime Minister, Lucien Francoeur, stressed the importance of such a tool in the advancement of the reform process. "This is an effective realization of the Government and its commitment to provide services to citizens," which remains convinced that there is still some way to go to achieve the desired reform.

Provide quality information by making life easier for citizens, this is the essence of the presentation made by the team of GENINOV, the Haitian-Canadian firm, which designed and built the project.

Users of public services can now dial the unique number 8674 or visit the website: www.servicespublics.gouv.ht to have accurate information about the services available in the ministries and agencies as well as their costs.
