Haiti - Politic : 6 demonstration to spoil the holiday season... 23/12/2014 12:00:17
The designation of Florence Duperval Guillaume as Prime Minister by interim https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12778-haiti-flash-dr-florence-duperval-guillaume-new-acting-prime-minister-of-haiti.html following the resignation of Prime Minister Lamothe https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12727-haiti-flash-resignation-of-laurent-lamothe-and-his-ministers.html is far from being favorably welcomed by the radical opposition.
For the Senator of the opposition, Jean Baptiste Bien-Aimé, a member of the G6 "This is a plan of President Michel Martelly aimed at maintaining Florence Guillaume Duperval to the Primature until the end of her term," adding "it is inconceivable that the President, choose a interim Prime Minister who is the personal friend of his wife [...]"
The Senator Wetsner Polycarpe also a member of G6, abounds in the same direction as his colleague "the designation of the Minister of Health as Acting Prime Minister, demonstrates the will of President Martelly to control government even after his departure [...] This is an unfair maneuver of the President of the Republic to bypass Parliament, that will be dysfunctional from January 12 2015 [...]"
Same negative reactions on the side of Louis Gerald Gilles (Fanmi Lavalas), Serge Jean-Louis (MOPOD) and Assad Volcy of "platfom Pitit Desalin" headed by Senator Moïse Jean-Charles, who consider "outrageous that the presidential couple now controls the National Palace and the Primature."
Moreover, the radical opposition trivialized the list of 5 potential prime Ministers https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12783-haiti-politic-opposition-frustrated-lucien-jura-denies.html . Jean Baptiste Bien-Aimé says that never one of those personalities in this list will be ratified as Prime Minister by Parliament.
Wetsner Polycarpe emains convinced that President Martelly will not indefinitely resist to the mobilization, moreover, the opposition reiterated its determination to continue to fight to overthrow the regime. To this end it announces a series of demonstrations: 24, 26, 28, 31 December 2014 and on 1 and 2 January 2015.
