Haiti - Health : Launching of the Health Insurance Program of OFATMA

Tuesday at the Municipal Palace of Delmas, President Michel Martelly, accompanied by the acting Prime Minister, Dr. Florence Duperval Guillaume, proceeded, to the official launch of the Health insurance program of the Office of Insurance Work Accident, Sickness and Maternity (OFATMA).

This program aims to provide all employees and their dependents, effective protection against the risk of occupational accidents, sickness and maternity. This insurance coverage of OFATMA is for all civil servants and employees of entities evolving in the public administration, employers, manual workers or intellectuals, day laborers in businesses, teachers and supervisors of non-public institutions, in accordance with Article 25 of the Organic Law of Department of Social Affairs of 28 August 1967.

"This insurance program, is based on two plans that offers the following services: 'Sickness and maternity' and 'Accidents and funeral expenses'," added Dr. Max Rudolph St Albain, director of OFATMA.
