Haiti - Petit Goave : 72-hours Ultimatum before the resumption of demonstrations 26/01/2015 12:14:19
Sunday at the Hotel Fraicheur of of Petit-Goâve, the Joint Liberation Front (FML) composed of thirty local opposition organizations, through the voice of spokespersons, Me Alain and Nosalito, announced at a press conference, the resumption of protests movement in the coming days, if their demands are not satisfied at maturity of a 72-hour ultimatum. "We will continue to mobilize to demand the departure of Me Jean Alix Civil, the current Government Commissioner of Petit-Goâve and 3 members of the Special Technical Committee (CTS) of the Town Hall, within 72 hours. We also require the completion of ongoing projects initiated before the end of the mandate of the former Deputy Jacques Stevenson Thimoléon, the lower cost of living and fuel, as well as payment of salary arrears to principals of Universal Schooling Program, Free and Compulsory (PSUGO)," said the two spokesmen who claimed that "in no case, former Deputy Thimoléon will be able to seek re-election for the constituency of Petit-Goâve." Furthermore, Me Alain declared "We'll bring complaints against Jacques Stevenson Thimoléon and his wife, the Interim Executive Officer Sandra Jules, for corruption and misappropriation [...]" recalling "that the FML will not support any government, that has not yet said what it will do for Petit-Goâve." It should be noted that Professor Gerson Constant, FML Coordinator was conspicuous by his absence at the press conference. See also : HL/ HaitiLibre / Guyto Mathieu (Correspondant Petit-Goâve)
