Haiti - Justice : Soon, the appointment of judges of the 5th promotion of EMA

Friday at a meeting with the graduates of the 5th class of the School of Magistrates (EMA), Pierre-Richard Casimir, the Minister of Justice and Public Security (MSPJ), accompanied by Me Jacquenet Oxilus, Secretary of State for Justice, Me Jean Roudy Aly, Director General of MJSP, Me Michel Kesner Thermézi, Director of the School of the EMA and his Chief of Staff, Dr. Jean Claudy Pierre announced to the forty judges making up this promotion, which all received their certification and the favorable certification and the favorable opinion of the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ) "You will all be appointed no later than March 1, 2015 [...] This is more than a promise, it is a commitment I am making with you", an announcement that has caused satisfaction and applause of graduates magistrates.

The Minister has clearly expressed to them its desire to integrate them into the system and highlighted the problem of prolonged pre-trial detention, which is one of its key priorities for which it relies on the contribution of these future judges and parquetiers "Never forget that freedom it is the rule and jail, the exception," inviting the new magistrates to always respect and protect individual liberty.

Recall that since the accession of President Martelly to the helm of affairs of the state, the EMA under the Ministry of Justice, was able to double the size of promotions, from 20 to 40 student judges. Note that the EMA just has recruited on contest 60 student judges, who will form its 6th promotion, whose training will begin in March 2015.
