Haiti - Politic : Inauguration of the Government Youth of Haiti

Thursday, under the auspices of the Association of Volunteers for Democracy (AVD), the Government Youth of Haiti (Gouvernement Jeunesse d'Haïti - GJH) took office during an investiture ceremony at the Royal Oasis. With a term of two years, the GJH is composed of a President, a Prime Minister, 23 young ministers and a Secretary General.
In his speech, the young President Amos Cincir, said that young people must participate in decision-making about the future of the country. He estimates that every Haitian should participate in the process of transformation of the Haitian Nation and promised that "the government team will strive to provide further guidance to the Haitian youth." According to him, this innovative idea allows to create a space for reflection, expression likely "to give youth the means to actively participate in the construction of our young democracy." The Government Youth of Haiti will allow 23 young people to gain practical experience in the operation of the Haitian government system.
Implemented by AVD, whose mission is to work to the full development of young people in terms of leadership, citizenship and patriotism, AVD specifies that the GJH, is not a political organization or a member of any government. Participants are not politicians, but volunteers. Members of the Government Youth, will formulate and present their policy before Parliament youth. They will simulate the Council of Ministers on television, they will organize awareness campaigns and youth forums, will endeavor to create solidarity between young people of the Caribbean and the world, organize national competitions and realize many other activities together with the institutions of the country.
