Haiti - Security : Protection of religious congregations and bank customers 18/03/2015 09:18:58 While recalling the crucial role of religious congregations in the training of several Haitian generations, the Minister Casimir condemned the recent attacks against Catholic congregations https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13331-haiti-security-25-sisters-residences-attacked-by-gunmen.html "At the highest level of the state, whether it is the President of the Republic, whether the Prime Minister, we are very concerned about these targeted attacks," confirming the holding, the day before, of a special meeting of the Superior Council of the National Police (CSPN), he promised concrete and rapid action to secure religious throughout the national territory. "The attacks against religious communities will not be tolerated. Police received clear instructions to track down the perpetrators [...] The justice and police are already on good tracks. Already, there have been several arrests and we will continue to track down all the perpetrators and accomplices of these attacks," ensuring to all religious that the police already do everything possible to ensure their safety. Abundant in the same direction, Godson Orélus specified that police stations and sub-stations in every corner of the country, have been instructed to protect religious congregations in their respective areas. Moreover, the Minister Casimir announced that new strategies were adopted together with the Professional Association of Banks (APB) to counter the phenomenon of customers robbery close to banks. He promised that in the coming days, the authorities will use the most effective ways to protect people attending the various branches of the banks, without providing further details on these means to preserve efficiency.
