Monday, after the signing of an university Framework Convention between Haiti and France, https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13459-haiti-education-signature-of-an-university-agreement-between-france-and-haiti.html the Ambassador of France accredited to Haiti, Elisabeth Beton Delègue, presented to Jean Vernet Henry, Rector of the State University of Haiti (UEH), the Cross of Officer in the Order of Agricultural Merit. This award recognizes the exemplary career of Jean Vernet Henry, who dedicated his life to teaching and sharing knowledge for the benefit of Haiti.

In her remarks the Ambassador Delègue declared "Under your leadership, UEH overcame the trauma of 2010 and is now back to its place. Today more than before : the nursery of the intellectual elite of the country, responsible for producing the next generation of educators and researchers that will ensure the sustainable development of the country.

The task is long and time is short, but on only two terms you raised such mountains and overcome such challenges that those who will follow you will have 'shod with seven-league boots' to be at your level.

Deeply moved, Jean Vernet Henry declared, "It is an honor to receive this recognition which reflects the magnificence of cooperative relationships established with France I contribute for more than thirty years in the field of agricultural education," adding that he shared this high honor with his family and classmates.
