Haiti - Economy : Lafito Industrial Free zone and Port Lafito joined ADIH

The Association of Industries of Haiti (ADIH) welcomes two new members of the GB Group (Gilbert Bigio Group) they are the free zone Lafito Industrial Free zone S.A. and the maritime service Port Lafito.

Remember that these job-creating businesses, which are part of the larger project "Global Lafito" (U.S. $ 150 million) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13242-haiti-economy-port-lafito-a-historic-first.html will be operational in 2015.

The Port Lafito with its container carrier cranes of last generation and the services provided to ships, will include in addition : its own administrative area, customs, port authority and security. 450 meters of dock for loading and unloading of goods, will be 900 meters to the completion of the works of the Phase II. The 12.5 meter draft secure water, make of it the deepest port of Haiti.

The Free Zone Lafito (100,000 m2 for manufacturing) will begin operations by July. It intends to creates alone, 20,000 jobs over the next four years. The free zone will have including: its fiber optic network, secure data storage facility, facilities for drinking water and wastewater, two main cafeterias and a medical center. A project partner enterprise, Seaboard corporation, will produce 25 megawatts of electricity for the entire site, 24 hours a day.
