Haiti - Security : Máximo Delgado accuses Haiti of violating the truckers protection agreement
Following the violent incidents that occurred Monday in Ounaminthe 4 where Dominicans trucks were damaged and at least one completely looted https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13601-haiti-flash-extreme-tension-at-the-border-a-peacekeeper-shot-dead.html , Lieutenant General William Muñoz Máximo Delgado, Dominican Defense Minister, accused the Haitian government of violating the agreement signed between the two countries on the protection of Dominican trucks operating in Haiti.

Recall that following the blocking on 5 March of 27 trailers and Dominican trucks loaded with goods in Ouanaminthe customs area because of threats against the Dominicans drivers https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13320-haiti-security-high-tension-on-the-border-of-ouanaminthe.html an agreement was signed with Haiti to protect drivers and Dominican trucks delivering goods to Haiti https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13352-haiti-security-the-minustah-and-pnh-protect-dominican-trucks.html

However, since the signing of this agreement with Haiti, in addition to the latest incident of 13 April 2015, 24 Dominican trucks were damaged by various attacks on the Haitian roads. https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13458-haiti-security-new-attack-against-dominican-trucks.html
