Haiti - Social : Key handover for social housing in Morne Lazarre

This Friday morning at 11:00 am, the President Michel Martelly accompanied including by Harry Adam, the Executive Director of the Housing Construction Unit and Public Buildings (UCLBP) will proceed to a visit of housing units of the new collective housing site in Morne Lazarre, Bourdon road and will hand the keys to the housing beneficiaries families.

This intervention is part of the component 'Housing and Community Infrastructure" of Project 16/6 and wants to be a successful experience of community involvement and consolidation of land, which can serve as a model for other zoens of the country. The construction works of multi-family housing units of Morne Lazarre, were funded by the Haiti Reconstruction Fund (HRF) and the American Red Cross and implemented by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).

Furthermore, the inauguration of the Canapé-Vert Square, constitutes the second event of the day with the participation of government officials and residents of the area. The rehabilitation of this site was funded by the Treasury, from the PetroCaribe funds and directed by the Haitian firm TECINA under the supervision of UCLBP which ensured the conduct of the works.
