Haiti - Education : Launch of new literacy campaign
The Haitian Government has launched its new literacy campaign in the departments of North, Northeast, West, South and South-East with support from Cuba and Venezuela.

Given the important means implemented, the authorities expect that 240,000 people in these provinces benefit from this program, which involves 150 supervisors, 1,000 animators and 15 staff for technical support.

To this end, 9,000 centers were installed in the territories concerned to implement this important program that will continue over the next 22 months. In addition to education staff, Cuba will provide audio-visual teaching aids and Venezuela will finance.

Since the program started in Haiti, a decade ago, teachers have learned to read and write to over 160,000 people.
