Haiti - Social : Labor Day and Agriculture 2015
Great Agro-Industrial Fair performed on the occasion of Labour Day and Agriculture, traditionally celebrated on May 1 at the Faculty of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine, will be held this year at the Champ de Mars, where for 3 days (1-2 and 3 May), nearly 200 agricultural professionals, agro-industrial and artisans will showcase their activities and products.

Also new this year, the Ministries of Agriculture and Social Affairs decided that the Feast of 1st May will be celebrated at the national level, what means that activities will take place in the chief towns of each of the 10 departments.

Victor Benoît, the Minister of Social Affairs stated that resources will be made available to the various chief towns, to properly celebrate the Feast of Labour and Agriculture, adding that the organizing committee had initially established a budget of 50 million gourdes, which was revised down by Prime Minister Paul. Also, depending on the assigned resources, each department will organize within its means, activities for 1, 2 or 3 days.

In addition, Rothchild François Junior, the spokesman of the government, advises political parties that during the festivities of 1 May, posters, t-shirts and other objects or forms of election propaganda, are not allowed to campaign, remembering that "it returns to the Provisional Electoral Council to take all measures necessary to prevent political parties to use this space to make political propaganda."
