Haiti - Justice : The founder of the orphanage «Maison Saint-Joseph» acquitted and released
The American Michael Geilenfeld, founder in 1985 of the orphanage « Maison Saint-Joseph » in Port-au-Prince, was acquitted and released Wednesday after his trial by a Haitian judge.

Recall that following allegations of physical and sexual abuse by 5 former residents of the orphanage for children, Michael Geilenfeld, 63, jailed for more than 8 months (September 5, 2014, the day of his arrest) never ceased to proclaim his innocent of all allegations.

His lawyer, Alain Lemithe, explained Thursday that the accusations lodged against his client were vague and unfounded, noting otherwise that no complainant has presented or has testified at trial against his client...

Besides the St. Joseph Orphanage, founded in 1985, the organization of Michael Geilenfeld has established a residence for missionaries and a dance troupe that made among others, a tour in Canada to promote its humanitarian organization working in Haiti for over 30 years.
