Haiti - Culture : Exhibition «En avant Haïti !» 04/05/2015 13:07:27 For five months, the public will be able to discover the many facets of Haiti, cultural cradle of the Caribbean, its complex history, emblematic figures and his unique artistic wealth. Throughout the exhibition, new works are proposed and the public can enter in a true Haitian town through a scenography created for the occasion by artists. Toto Bissainthe : he exhibition will devote an important place to Toto Bissainthe emblematic figure symbolizing with perfection the soul of Haiti, its beauty, its struggle and its pain. The Foundation Haiti Jazz will show in photos and video testimonials, the unique route of this great musician and actress. Her work honors the lives, challenges and spirituality of the Haitian people. A people of painters : Malraux Paintings, sculptures, crafts and video, the suite is a free frame, a crossing without borders dedicated to Haitian art from every angle. The gallery offers a meeting and cohabitation between old and contemporary works. Travel to Haiti Cultural evenings (500 years of history and creation) : In order to discover in depth the Haitian culture, land of history and tradition, the exhibition offers a rich and multidisciplinary cultural program. Made of singing, music and storytelling (Dominique Sylvain, Atissou, Amos Coulanges, Henri Roy, Jackson Télémaque, Eddy Saint-Martin, Natacha Jeune Saintil, Jude Joseph), of film screenings followed by discussions, conferences (voodoo, the art in Haiti, tribute to Mimi Barthelemy, Jacques Stephen Alexis) but also ppointments continuously for all (singing workshops, dance for children, fashion shows, food tasting Haitian...).
