Some presidential candidates confirmed and others...
While opens Monday, May 11 (until May 20) the registration period of candidates for the presidential election, what we know that at this time of confirmed candidates by their party, of those awaiting primary or those who have expressed their intention to enter the competition. The Provisional Electoral Council believes that there could be more than 60 candidates. We offer you a first overview (partial). Note that all these candidates must still be approved by the CEP.

Maguy Durcé :
Special Adviser to the Prime Minister Evans Paulto the Primature, will be presidential candidateunder the banner "Konvansyon Inite Demokratik" (KID). Former Senior Technical Advisor of the Minister of Education, Marie Carmelle Austin Paul (2001), she became spokesman of KID and Senate candidate in 2005, a year after joining the party.

Statement by the Embassy of the United States on the elections

5,825,295 registered voters (April 2015)
While the electoral list will close its register Monday, May 11, there were already 5,835,295 voters registered in April, 2015.

Recusal of a lawyer of BCEN in the case of the First Lady
Since Friday, several challenges cases are treated at the National Office of Electoral Litigation (BCEN), including that concerning, Sophia Saint-Rémy Martelly. Lawyers for the First Lady contested the presence in one of the offices of Me Jaccéus Joseph and requested and obtained the recusal evoking the conflict of interest, because he was to the Council of lawyers defending Enold Florestal in the case that opposed him to Sophia Martelly. He was finally replaced by the vice-president of the CEP, Pierre Manigat Jr.
