Wednesday, during an exchange with Haitian journalists staying in Washington, Thomas Adams, the Special Adviser to the US State Department for Haiti, said he found appropriate a change in the electoral timetable, which would allow to achieve 2 elections instead of the 3 provided in Haiti, before the end of this year.

Thomas Adams, said he understood the concerns expressed by various sectors of Haitian society, who believe that the country does not have financial means to achieve 3 elections. He added that the reduction to two polls (by suppressing the election of 9 August) would make save nearly $30 million and would also give more time to the Electoral Council, to properly prepare the electoral process, insisting that the decision belongs exclusively to the Haitians, he remains confident that the elections will take place in Haiti, by the end of 2015.
