Haiti - Heritage : 200 monuments and sites of Haiti, listed by ISPAN
The Ministry of Culture, through the National Heritage Preservation Institute (ISPAN) in the presence of Ambassador of USA accredited in Haiti and in particular, Ms. Yves Rose Morquette, Minister for Women's Affairs, of Directors General of the Ministry of Culture, Jean Michel Lapin, of the National Bureau of Ethnology (BNE), of Erol Josué, Director General of the National Heritage Preservation Institute (ISPAN) recently proceeded in Fort-Jacques (Fermathe), to the symbolic delivery of a copy of the book "200 Monuments and Sites of Haiti" to Ambassador Pamela A. White, in recognition of the contribution of his country to the publication of this cultural reference document.

Expressing proud of her participation in the realization of this directory of the different historical sites, Pamela White said to believe that this work responds to an urgent need to establish a reference tool of the wealth and diversity of the Haitian built heritage.

Indeed, the catalog "200 Monuments and Sites of Haiti" was conceived by ISPAN, in order to develop and offer an objective inventory of 200 historic sites of great cultural value in Haiti. Recall that in the framework of this project, an agreement was signed December 9, 2011 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-4443-haiti-tourism-towards-the-publication-of-a-catalog-of-historic-sites.html with the US Embassy, which manages the "Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation" o support the implementation of the project financed by this fund to the tune of 41,500 US dollars.

According to the Minister of Culture "The Monuments and sites are of public interest in the light of history and the initiative to reference them in this inventory book and of documentation, participates to a manifest will of the Government tovalue them in order to better protect them," adding "It is also a wonderful challenge and an exciting work of be able to make live and fructify, to be able to share and transmit this magnificent historical legacy," inviting all the forces of the country to rediscover Haiti through the richness, the diversity of these monuments and the most attractive sites in the country.

For the Director General of ISPAN, Engineer Patrick Durandis "This reference document on Monuments and Sites of Haiti is crucial for young university students, tourism professionals, researchers and schoolchildren [...] but it not a comprehensive inventory of the building heritage of Haiti, even if its content covers the 10 departments of the country."

The book has been printed in a thousand copies and reissue is due soon.
