Haiti - Politic : Toward the transition between humanitarian and sustainable development 31/05/2015 11:09:26
Thursday, May 28, 2015, at the conference room of the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation (MPCE), took place an important meeting, during which Yves Germain Joseph the Minister of Planning, Michael Douglas Grant, the Representative of Canada to the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and Sandra Honoré, the Representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations in Haiti, proceeded to the signing of the revised document of "Integrated Strategic Framework" (CSI). It is important to note that the CSI (2013/2016) was based on humanitarian, while the revised CSI aims to ensure the transition between humanitarian and sustainable development, with priority on more structural actions at sectors concerned. During his speech the Minister Joseph, stressed the importance and benefits for Haiti of CSI (2013/2016), in particular for the most disadvantaged stratas of the population, by improving their livelihoods and strengthening the resilience of some communities. For her part, Sandra Honoré praised the teamwork and of collaboration of MPCE executives, who worked on the development of the revised CSI, while stressing that this signing was the culmination of an inclusive process. Furthermore, she added that this revision was a mid-term review of CSI (2013/2016), while specifying that these revision work, have also allowed the alignment of programs based on the priorities of the Government of Haiti.
