Haiti - Insecurity : Attempted kidnapping in Thomassin, one injured 12/10/2010 14:38:23
Quickly alerted by relatives of the victim, the police station of Thomassin, has immediately cordoned off the area. The rapid response of law enforcement has forced the kidnappers to abandon their sordid project. Unfortunately during this operation, one of the kidnappers, before fleeing, shot twice in their hostage, injuring his hands and face before leaving the victim in his blood. The injured driver was rushed to hospital where his days are not in danger. However, despite the rapid deployment of security forces, and closure of the area, the kidnappers were able to get through the cracks of the police. No person was apprehended.
