Haiti - Diplomacy : Michel Martelly mediator between Venezuela and the US
Left from Venezuela just after 6 p.m., a Venezuelan delegation sent by President Nicolas Maduro arrived Saturday evening in Port-au-Prince.

Headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Delcy Rodríguez and the President of the National Assembly (AN), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, Venezuelan delegation went to National Palace, where it met the delegation of the United States composed particularly of Thomas Shannon, Adviser to the US State Department, the US Ambassador to Haiti Pamela White and Thomas Adams, Special Coordinator of the State Department for Haiti.

For more than an hour and a half behind closed doors, the participants in this high-level meeting between Venezuela and the United States, discussed various issues in order to normalize diplomatic relations between the two Nations, in accordance with international law, sovereignty and self-determination of peoples, under the mediation of President Michel Martelly.

Following this meeting, Delcy Rodríguez wrote on twitter "We had a working meeting with the Adviser Thomas Shannon and US delegation en route towards normalization of relations."
