Haiti - Repatriations : Sandra Honoré met the Chancellor Navarro
Wednesday Sandra Honoré, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General and Head of the Minustah, after traveled by helicopter of the Minustah to Las Americas International Airport in the Dominican Republic.

The visit of a few hours, the second of Sandra Honoré since December 2013, came as was ending at midnight Wednesday (after an extension of 5 hours), the registration to the National Plan for the Regularization of Foreigner (PNRE) in an irregular migratory situation [the latest figures evoke more than 270,000 registered].

According to our sources the repatriation as of Thursday, June 18, of foreigners in an irregular migratory situation including almost 95% of Haitians who are not enrolled in PNRE, was the focus of discussion.

The Chancellor Andrés Navarro, the Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Muñoz Williams, the Director of Immigration Major General Paulino Ruben Dario and other military leaders and of the police have also held a meeting with the Head of the Minustah. It was especially question of security on the border between the Dominican Republic and Haiti.

Sandra honored also met with the Haitian authorities.

Recall that the regularization of foreigners living illegally in Dominican territory unfolds in Phase 3. Phase I that just ended was the registration in PNRE. Phase II will involve the repatriation of foreigners in their country of origin, while the Phase III is related to the security and border surveillance, through to a major device that will be in operation early in January 2016.
