![]() Haiti - Social : Reception centers nonexistent for future returnees 19/06/2015 11:43:04
Same finding for Jean Philippe Thomas of Support Group for Returnees and Refugees that deplores "We have seen no structure to welcome people, we only noticed a poster indicating where the Centre will be and a vast desert land [...] On the 3 carreaux of land located in Malpasse reserved for the reception of future returnees, the GAAR could only see on the site one tractor, two trucks, two generators and two guards and a placard indicating : Welcome." Yet since late May, the government continues to assert that two sites are the subject of building of Centres to welcome our compatriot https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-14210-haiti-social-the-reception-centers-for-repatriated-haitians-are-not-ready.html https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-14091-icihaiti-social-nothing-is-ready-to-host-the-haitians-repatriated-from-rd.html Last Tuesday Roc Exéus, the Director of the National Office of Migration (ONM) had however affirmed "[...] we have a center under construction on the side of Anse-à-Pitres. We mobilize a unit to facilitate family research in order to resettle our compatriots," also announcing that "the Ministry of Agriculture has several hundred hectares of land in the plantation Dauphin of Fort-Liberté for those who wanted to cultivate the land,"... Hopefully these lands, unlike receptions centers, really exist... "The attitude of our leaders in the repatriation issue is poor," strongly criticizes Jean-Robert Argand Coordinator General of the Collective of 4 December, waiting in vain for a reply to a letter addressed to the Haitian authorities, on specific answers on including : the administrative provisions proposed to identify the persons returned and their integration, the health protocol in place to accommodate returning families, the modalities to feed in the short, medium and long term and provide them with all identity documents they lack, in the Dominican Republic... In addition, several groups of civil society including the GAAR qualifies the Identification Program and Documentation of Haitian Immigrants (PIDIH) "of abject failure of government," stressing that this program "clearly demonstrates that the authorities in Haiti have failed to accompany the Haitian migrants in neighboring land," in do not provide the identification documents required for registration to the Regularisation Plan https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13739-haiti-dominican-republic-towards-a-failure-of-pnre.html https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-14080-icihaiti-social-tens-of-thousands-of-haitians-in-dr-abandoned-by-haiti.html See also : https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-14234-haiti-flash-dominican-details-of-the-repatriation-process.html SL/ HaitiLibre
