Friday, President Michel Martelly, accompanied by the First Lady, Sophia Martelly and Prime Minister, Evans Paul proceeded to the Champ-de-Mars, at the official inauguration of the Cine Theatre Triomphe renovated to the costs of 7 million US dollars (including additional space purchases).

In the presence of among others Andris Riché, the Senate President, of Ministers of Culture, Ms. Dithny Joan Raton, of Tourism, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, dozens of artists and personalities from the cultural community, the Head of State, very moved in the circumstances, did not want to talk long, preferred to greet the work led by the Council for Performing Arts (CAS) and declared "Some moments of our existence are so emotionally charged that we living there as a triumph."

The Cine Theatre Triomphe is now composed of three rooms. The first hall can accommodate 450 people and contains a big stage designed to accommodate performances (dance, theater, concert) and projections. With a High definition digital system as well as licenses allowing it to diffuse foreign film, the new hall 1 of Cine Triomphe is equipped with the latest technologies in movie projection.

The second room has a capacity of over 300 people and modern multi-functional facilities for the projection and Room 3 is reserved for conferences, meetings and other official events.

According to the Head of State "With these assets the Triumph must gain a foothold among the largest Haitian institutions. Its fame and prestige should be projecte, in order to resonate and radiate, well beyond our borders, in the global art world."
