"I am optimistic when I see the hunger for peace in society and the authorities' commitment," said Friday, Sandra Honoré, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General in Haiti who also thanked the dedication of staff to the stabilization of the region and promised to continue its support "We will continue to support you in this electoral period in the Centre".

Sandra Honoré took the opportunity to visit the base of Morne Casse near Fort-Liberté, where a mixed battalion of 409 people including Peruvian troops (164) and Uruguay (245) was created to assist in the Northeast Department "Their participation is vital to the mission," said the Brazilian Lieutenant-General José Luiz Jaborandy Jr., military commander of the Minustah.
