Haiti - Diplomacy : President Martelly will be in Ecuador for the Pope's visit

Monday, Ricardo Patino, Ecuador's Minister of Foreign Affairs, informed that the President of the Republic of Haiti, Michel Martelly, and the President of Honduras, Juan Orlando Hernández, confirmed to him that they will be in Ecuador for the visit of Pope Francis from 5 to 8 July of this year.

Their visit follows an invitation by the President of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, to his counterparts of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) to attend the open-air Mass that the Pope will deliver in Quito 7 July.

Pope Francis will also celebrate another Mass at the port of Guayaquil (South West), on 6 July as part of a busy schedule that includes a meeting with President Correa. Those responsible expect at least 1.5 million people at every Mass.

As part of his tour the Pope Francis will also visit Bolivia and Paraguay.
