The business of border market of Pedernales in the Dominican Republic [which is held every Monday and Friday] were severely disrupted and reduced Friday due to a blockage of the border in Haiti.

Demonstrators prevented their fellow from entering the market and blocking the supply of agricultural and miscellaneous products. The protesters required the end of repression from the CESFRONT, (the unit responsible for the Dominican border surveillance), against their countrymen who are trying to enter illegally in the Dominican Republic.

The Dominican military police present on site to avoid confusion. has reported no incidents.
