Beginning of the legislative campaign without money...?
Frantz Bernadin the Spokesman of the Provisional Electoral Council stated that despite the fact that the campaign for the legislative begins on July 8, the Haitian government had not yet transferred any funds to the CEP in order to finance candidates for legislative posts recalling that "it is for the Executive to decide the amount to be allocated to political parties in preparation for the electoral campaign for the legislative elections," adding that these funds will be allocated to parties according to the number of candidates they present for election.

Electoral Security Corps of 5,000 agents
The Provisional Electoral Council, informs working on the establishment of an Electoral Security Corps, which should have a workforce of 5,000 Electoral Security Agents (ESAs). To this end, training is scheduled from 13 to 25 July for the ESA, through the country. Currently the CEP is recruiting ESAs and supervisors.

245 cases of disputes in municipal and local elections
Monday, Frantz Bernardin, said that except for the Southeast department, the Communal Electoral Offices of Litigation (BCEC) treated a total of 245 cases of dispute for candidates for municipal and local elections and 26 BCEN remedies have been pursued. The CEP should soon consider the case of disputes at the National Electoral Office of Litigation, for municipal and local even if for some Communal Electoral Offices, especially in the Southeast and in the commune of Anse-à-Galet, disputes have not yet begun.

Info Center for voters 24/24
The CEP has indicated this week, that a call center will be set up in order to inform voters 24/24 during the electoral process. To this end, 80 agents will be assigned to answer questions and guide the voters.

PNH ready to ensure security
On Monday, the Commissioner Frantz Lerebours, Spokesman of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) said that the PNH is prepared to guarantee, together with the peacekeepers of the UN, the security of general elections to be held this year in this country. He clarified that the police will ensure safety of the people "before, during and after the elections," through a joint plan that the institution has developed for the entire country. Wanting reassuring the PNH spokesman explained that "The withdrawal of UN forces was compensated by increased police staff..."
