Haiti - Elections : Important meeting with Evans Paul, the CEP and the Core Group

Tuesday, the Prime Minister, Evans Paul, accompanied by several of his ministers, held an important meeting with the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) and the partners of the Core Group (the Ambassadors of Brazil, Canada, Spain , the United States of America, France, and the European Union and the Special Representative of the Organization of American States), to share information and make recommendations regarding the proper conduct of the electoral process.

This tripartite evaluation meeting was an opportunity for the Head of Government to acknowledge the support of the Core Group n the organization of the forthcoming elections and welcomed additional donations allocated by Canada, the States US, Brazil, for the organization of elections.

Prime Minister Paul also stressed that the holding of elections, as of 9 August, represented for Haiti "a great democratic party."

That same day, Evans Paul, accompanied among others by its Secretary General Me Josué Pierre-Louis and the Minister of Justice, Me Pierre Richard Casimir, received in his official residence, the High General Staff of the Minustah and of the National Police of Haiti (PNH). This was to review the security arrangements put in place to 5 days of elections. Everything is ready and officers of the PNH and Minustah said they are confident.
