Wednesday, 24 hours after the informations circulating about the resignation from the Government Martelly-Paul, of representatives of the Fusion of Social Democrats : Victor Benoit, Minister of Social Affairs and Labour, Yves Rose Morquette, Minister for the Status of Women and Women's Rights and Mozart Clerisson, Secretary of State for Literacy; former Senator Edmonde Supplice Beauzile, candidate for President of the FUSION officialized in a press conference, these resignations, she justified it by the remarks and inappropriate and ribald humor of the Head of State against a woman in Miragoâne, during a political rally on 28 July. She said that this decision was taken unanimously by the National Executive Board of the party.

Beyond its dismay and outrage about the behavior of the Head of State, there is not doubt that the FUSION took advantage of this opportunity offered by this incident, to withdraw from a Government where its representatives were unable to present their ideas and where their decision-making capacity was close to zero. A worthy way to withdraw without having to provide further reasons and to use this deplorable incident against the Party in Power.
