Haiti - Politic : Communal workshops on decentralization

Members of the general coordination of the Office of Management and Human Resources (OMRH) and representatives of the Support Group to the Decentralization in Haiti (Haiti GADE) have met to discuss methods of cooperation on the communal workshops of reflection on decentralization which will be organized by the GADE Haiti in 25 communes.

These workshops aim to actively involve acting agents, the Boards of Directors of the Communal Sections (CASEC), the Assemblies Communal Sections (ASEC), academics, the others local and departmental authorities, political parties and candidates, especially youth and women's organizations in the decentralization process and encourage them to sign a deed of commitment.

The organization of communal reflection workshops on decentralization will be executed as part of citizen mobilization and advocacy project for a national decentralization policy, funded by the Minustah. Four of these workshops have already been organized in the Southeast department.

In order to continue with this project, GADE Haiti is seeking the support of OMRH as a preferred partner.
