Haiti - Health : International Compassion wants to boost health care in the country

A delegation of the American NGO Compassion International, visited the Ministry of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE) [which acts as liaison with the Ministry of Health (MSPP)], to discuss of a possible cooperation in the health field and a partnership with the MSPP.

Recall that Compassion International, provides health care for decades in Haiti, through mobile clinics and is present in 8 departments. The importance of prenatal care, eye care, pediatrics represent areas of interventions of Compassion International, which works exclusively with churches. However, the NGO intends to extend its good offices in Haiti, beyond the sole the religious sector.

Attended the working session Dr. Darline Carré Théodore, Director of Organization of Health Services (MSPP), Édouard Valmé, Director General and MHAVE executives and members of Compassion International, from the US.

Prevention, preparation and organization of antenatal care, were at the heart of exchanges. After the meeting, Edouard Valmé intends to put in relationwith Compassion International, the Haitian Diaspora associations working in the field of health, for better coordination of actions.
