Haiti - Diplomacy : The Vice-Consul of Haiti in Dajabón above the law ? 03/09/2015 09:51:32
Judnie Galdine Souffrant after having insulted Dominican customs officers the Nissan Patrol gold on the bridge that crosses the border area and paralyzed traffic for nearly two hours. Ignoring probably that in international conventions governing relations it is indicated in particular that "Without prejudice to their privileges and immunities, all persons enjoying such privileges have the duty to respect the laws and regulations of the State of residence..." Under no circumstances diplomatic immunity subtracts the staff of a diplomatic corps to a identification request of an authority of the country of residence. It finally took the intervention of a delegation of the Consulate of Haiti of Dajabón and of Human Rights Committee with the parties involved, so that finally is moved the vehicle that blocked the border and that the situation returns to its normal.
