Thursday, for the 3rd consecutive day, the situation remained very tense in the commune of Arcahaie (West Department).

The National # 1 was again blocked in several places, burning tires and wrecked cars were erected in barricades. The agents of the Departmental Unit for Maintaining Order (UDMO) had to intervene several times to disperse under the stone throwing, angry protesters. Several people were arrested during the spontaneous protest of the population.

The Archelois demanding the withdrawal of the decision, arguing that the removal of this communal section will significantly reduce the tax base of the commune of Arcahaie because Montrouis is the communal section the most profitable due to its various beachfront hotels.

Recall that before the decree Arcahaie was composed of six communal sections : Boucassin, Fonds-Baptiste, Des Vases, Délices, Matheux eand t Montrouis.
