Haiti - FLASH : Justin Viard, Consul General of Haiti in Montreal, revoked

Saturday, Justin Viard, the Consul General of Haiti in Montreal, announced his departure. According to preliminary information, he was removed from office by the administration Martelly-Paul, for not communicated reasons, neither by the Government of Haiti or by the Consul Viard, in his note announcing his departure :

"My dear compatriots, dear friends,

The time has come for me to say goodbye to you, despite my sudden departure, despite myself, I leave with a feeling of a mission accomplished and to have had the honor and privilege to serve such a beautiful and great community as Consul General.

I had the chance to meet extraordinary men and women who have been my inspiration and motivation every day.

You will always remain in my heart.

Cheers the Haitian community in Montreal!

Good luck to my dearest Haiti !"

Recently Justin Viard, had participated in the first shovelful of the new "Maison d'Haïti" in Montreal in the presence among others of Denis Coderre, Mayor of Montreal.

Recall, that Justin Viard was Consul General of Haiti in Montreal from April 2012 to September 2015, he succeeded Pierre-Richard Casimir, who had held this position from April 2005 to November 2011.

For now the name of his successor is unknown.
