"The coastline in Haiti : land and economic issues, environmental threats"

Tuesday, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism and Ulrick Emmanuel Noel Director of Investments of the Ministry of Tourism, participated in a workshop at the Marriott around the theme "The coastline in Haiti: land and economic issues, environmental threats."

During this workshop, an initiative of the Ministry of Economy and Finance organized by the Interministerial Committee on Planning (CIAT), the Minister of Tourism intervened on tourism opportunities in the North coastal strip, which has many natural, cultural and historical resources, that could be validly used.

In her speech, the Minister Villedrouin recalled that significant investments are currently made within this space, namely inter alia: the projects of "Amiga Island" the extension of "Cormier Plage Beach and Resort", the construction of the "Satama Hotel", the extension of the "Habitation Jouissant" and the construction of "Joupana Hotel".

The north coast, so has recently experienced a development and a certain interest on the part of many investors, what motivated the Ministry of Tourism to develop an urban renewal program to help improve the living environment of communities concerned.

Tuesday, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Industries, had a meeting with "Coral Green Group" about possible investments in the tourism sector in Haiti.
