Haiti - Elections : Voltaire in favor of postponing the elections if...
Leaver from a conference at the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (FUNGLODE) in Dominican Republic, the presidential candidate, Leslie Voltaire said he was favorable to the postponement of general elections in Haiti if the cholera epidemic that killed nearly 300 people spread in Haiti

"Elections must take place, but for us the most important thing is that people continue to live [...] I think if the epidemic spreads, it will postpone the elections in my country because it's the best choice".

Voltaire described the cholera epidemic as a "serious situation" but he expressed confidence that the health authorities of his country, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) will succeed in containing the spread of cholera.
