Haiti - Health : American and Cuban doctors, a historic collaboration

This Thursday early afternoon, as part of the humanitarian mission of the hospital ship USNS Comfort, the Cuban ambassador, Ricardo Garcia Napoles and a group of Cuban doctors will join the American charge d'affaires in Haiti and other executives of the US Embassy to visit in Tabarre, the Hospital Saint-Luc. After this visit, the Cuban doctors together with American doctors will work to provide general care to patients come to consult but also in pediatric, dental, ophthalmic and orthopedic.
This historic collaboration between American and Cuban doctors, whose will be witness Haiti marks a new stage in the restoration of relations between the US and Cuba (initiated by President Obama last December), after a break of over 50 years...
Recall that on Tuesday the American doctors had visited the clinic "La renaissance" (Bel-Air) where Cuban doctors are working.
