Saturday, on the invitation of the Institute George W. Bush, the First Lady Sophia Martelly, has left the country for Dallas, Texas (USA) where she should attend the summit Global Women Network/Women Initiative which be held on 22 September.

The summit realized for the First Ladies and Women Leaders, has the objective of addressing the problems related to the status of women worldwide. It will also promote the role of First Ladies in the response to these issues in their respective countries.

On this occasion, Sophia Martelly will meet a panel of representatives of organizations working in the field of women's empowerment in the economy, education and health.

During her stay, she will also go to the United Nations in New York to participate in two high-level activities for spouses of Heads of State and Government, on education for sustainable development on the issue of women.
