Haiti - Politic : Kenneth Merten continues his visit to the country
During his stay in Haiti, Haiti Special Coordinator Kenneth Merten, will consult a range of political, business, civil society, and international community leaders, including the President, the Prime Minister, https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-15234-icihaiti-politic-kenneth-h-merten-met-evans-paul.html the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), the United Nations, and human rights groups. He will also visit the Caracol and CODEVI Industrial Parks.

In his meetings, Special Coordinator Merten will reiterate the United States’ support for fair and inclusive elections in accordance with the 2015 electoral calendar, and for Haiti’s long-term sustainable economic growth. He will urge all parties to work together to address the shortcomings observed in the August 9 elections, to ensure that the October 25 and December 27 elections are peaceful and credible.
