Haiti - Literature : Haiti finalist of Ivory Award 2015

The pre-jury of the 8th edition of Ivory Award 2015 for African Literature of Francophone Expression after deliberation, has selected 7 finalists from among the 34 works in competition from 11 countries.

Created in 2008 by Akwaba Culture, an Ivorian law association, the Ivory Award is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Francophonie of Côte d'Ivoire, the Embassy of France in Abidjan and the Librairie de France Groupe of Ivory Coast; the Ivory Award for African Literature of Francophone Expression has a budget of 2 million CFA (± 3,000 euros) and a trophy. Furthermore, the winner of Ivory Award will be the guest at the Book Fair in 2016.

List of 7 finalist of Ivory Award 2015 :

  • Florent Couao-Zotti (Benin) "La traque de la musaraigne" to edition Jigal, 2014 ;

  • Eric Essono Tsimi (Cameroon) "Migrants diaries", to editions Présence Africaine, 2014 ;

  • Kettly Mars (Haiti) "Je suis vivant" to editions Mercure de France ;

  • Imane Naciri (Morocco) "Ultimes confessions" to editions La Croisée Des Chemins, 2014 ;

  • Fathia Radjabou (Comores) "Je ne sais pas quoi faire de ma vie..." to editions Présence Africaine 2014 ;

  • Alain Tailly (Ivory Coast) "John Ziguehi"J to editions Frat-Mat, 2015 ;

  • Henri-Michel Yere (Ivory Coast) "Mil neuf cent quatre-vingt-dix" to editions Panafrika/ Nouvelles du Sud.

The Ivory Award will be presented to the winner November 21, 2015, at the Festival Hall of the Sofitel Hotel Ivoire, during a gala dinner held under the patronage of the Honourable Guillaume Soro, President of the National Assembly of Ivory Coast and the presidency of Maurice Bandama, Minister of Culture and Francophonie of the Republic of Ivory Coast.
