Haiti - Politic : President Martelly will speak at the UN

Tuesday, the President Michel Martelly, accompanied by his wife, and also of Ministers of Foreign Affairs Lener Renaud, of Economy and Finance, Wilson Laleau, Planning and External Cooperation, Yves Germain Joseph, left the country to New York to attend the 70th Ordinary Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) to be held from September 28 to October 3 on the theme "The United Nations at 70 – a new commitment to action".

This session that is marked by issues of sustainable development and the fight against climate change will be an opportunity for the Head of the Haitian state to have several important bilateral meetings. The President Martelly will deliver a speech at the rostrum of the General Assembly Thursday, 1 October 2015.

This Wednesday at 7:30 pm, on the sidelines of the session, the President Martelly will address the Haitian community of Spring Valley, at the St. Joseph Church located at 245 N. Main St. It will be his first visit in Spring Valley, according to the Presidential Committee of Rockland County. The Mayor of Spring Valley Demeza Delhomme and other local dignitaries are expected and local artists will perform on this occasion. No one will be admitted without a ticket, and no tickets will be available at the door.

A limited number of tickets are available at the following locations :

La Bagette D’Or, 216 N. Main Street, Spring Valley ;

Speedy Import & Export, 156 N. Main Street, Spring Valley ;

Konbit Neg Lakay, 16 W.Church Street, Spring Valley.

Also Thursday, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm the President Martelly, will address the Diaspora at Medgar Evers College located to 650 Bedford Avenue Brooklyn, NY 11225, entrance on the Crown St or Montgommerry. For more information call: (347) 671-5307.
