Haiti - Politic : Michel Martelly meets with Ban Ki-Moon
Thursday, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, held in New York from 15 September to 5 October 2015, the President Michel Martelly, met with the Secretary General of the United Nations (UN ), Ban Ki-Moon.

During the meeting that took place in a cordial atmosphere, the President Martelly stressed the considerable efforts and the broad political concessions he made to create a climate conducive to the holding of elections currently underway in the country. He recalled the importance of these electionsthat should enable the renewal of the whole political staff, reiterated its commitment to continue the dialogue with political actors in order to clean the field, until the last day of his term.

Moreover, welcoming the commitment of the Secretary General and the UN alongside the people of Haiti, Michel Martelly expressed the hope that this involvement of the UN in Haiti continues with the arrival of a new President issued the next elections.

The two men also discussed the difficult relationship between Haiti and the Dominican Republic which experienced a particular turning point since the adoption 23 September 2013 by the Dominican Constitutional Court of the judgment TC 168-13. The President Martelly has once again called for respect for the fundamental rights of the victims of this abuse policy and said he was always ready to engage in dialogue on all points of friction in bilateral relations. He is convinced that it is necessary to restore good neighborly relations between the two countries and lead the repatriation process to the satisfaction of both parties in accordance with international standards.
