Haiti - Insecurity : The situation in the metropolitan area
On October 27 in the area of Cazaeu, a young 14 year old girl, the daughter of an engineer of MINUSTAH, was kidnapped in the evening by three unidentified suspects while she was at home. The victim was freed by his captors on the road to the airport. The young victim was taken to the clinic of thee United Nations for a medical check. An investigation was opened.

At Source Matelas in the Cabaret area a body of a man was discovered. The preliminary investigation revealed that he is a notorious thief and he was lynched by local people.

Yesterday at Fort National on the street du Peuple, an unidentified body of a man was discovered with gunshot wounds. According to witnesses the suspects fled after the incident.

Yesterday in the early hours, an unknown number of youths burned tires and threw stones against the Haitian National Police (PNH) on avenue Solino in Fort National. They protested because they did not receive the money allegedly promised by presidential candidate Jude Celestin (INITE).
