This Friday, as part of its strategy of support to private sector development and especially in the implementation of Micros Parks program, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MCI) will sign a memorandum of understanding with the Industrial Development Company (CODEVI).

Through this agreement, the Ministry officially took the decision to erect a private domain of the State near the park of the CODEVI a Micro Park of Service to accommodate cooks that feed the workers of the free zone of Ouanaminthe.

This Micro Park will offer a space clean, respectful of hygiene standards for the population of the area for their restoration, on the one hand and on the other hand, a new framework to merchants enabling them to reduce operating costs by providing them with adequate infrastructure and equipment. Moreover, this device will benefit the entire population of the Ouanaminthe zone. Finally, this change will be marked by economic influence on the area thanks to the contribution of small producers who are the main food providers.

The agreement also defines the conditions under which the Ministry entrusts the management of Micro Park (it owns) to CODEVI S.A. MCI agrees to finance part of the construction (40,192,338 gourdes) and equipment (20,035,166 gourdes).

The contribution of the Ministry will mobilizes part of the funds of the pilot program for creating and developing the productive fabric in priority areas of economic development financed by the Interamerican Development Bank (IDB) (non-refundable Financing Agreement 2827 / GR-HA). The project totaling 2,436,367.21 US dollars and will also benefit from a contribution of :

Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF): $ 600,000

Clinton Bush Haiti Fundation CBHF: $ 475,000

Industrial Development Company (CODEVI): $ 175,000

Instituto Dominicano de Desarrollo Integral (IDDI): 50,0000 dollars

The Ministry recalls that the Micro-park is a tool for supply chain development and a common productive space which aims to enhance domestic production by facilitating job creation, development of trades and specialization of labor, industrial development and pooling and reducing operational costs.

The Micro-parks will cover the entire national territory, one by arrondissement and are primarily placed in four main groups of priority sectors. Ouanaminthe will be one of the first arrondissements to accommodate a Micro-park.
