On Tuesday, Prime Minister Evans Paul, accompanied, among others, of Ariel Henry, the Minister of Social Affairs and Employment conducted a visit to the Caisse d'Assistance Sociale (CAS) to inquire about the conditions of reception of beneficiaries. Recall that the CAS provides social assistance to the most vulnerable people, including the elderly, those with special needs and other compatriots in difficulty.

During his visit, the Head of Government reiterated the determination of the Administration Martelly to continue to work to improve the living environment of the population in general, the poorest in particular and announced in front of several beneficiaries including seniors and persons with disabilities "I have good news for you [...] the State is committed to increasing your monthly support of 50%. It now passes from 1.000 to 1.500 gourdes starting next month [...]" adding "This increase, participates in the relentless struggle of the administration Martelly/Paul against extreme poverty, exclusion and social injustice in the 10 departments of the country."

Furthermore the CAS conducted to the satisfaction of the beneficiaries to a distribution of food kits and 1,500 gourdes envelopes.
