Haiti - Politic : Attacks of Paris, a minute of silence

Monday at noon, at the residence of the Ambassador of France in Haiti, Elisabeth Beton Delègue, many members of the French community in Haiti participated in the presence of President Michel Martelly, to a ceremony of homage to the victims of attacks have bereaved Paris on November 13. Representatives of the diplomatic corps also attended the ceremony, as well as all students of the French school.

"We are here to tell our compassion and emotion to the families of victims , to mourn with them these deaths that could have been ours," said Ambassador, "The people of France is in shock but standing [.. .] Liberty, Equality, Fraternity : more than ever, we must defend the universal significance of this message through collective action within and outside our borders. More than ever, we need to come together against those who seek to stand against each other, by arousing fear and hatred."

"Haiti remains alongside France and renews its solidarity in this difficult context," indicated the President Martelly.

A minute of silence was observed in memory of all the victims of the attacks.

A condolence book was also made available to all those who attended the ceremony and collected numerous messages. This book of condolence will be available to the public from Wednesday, November 18 at the Embassy of France, during normal opening hours.
