Haiti - Reconstruction : Inauguration of Convention and Documentation Centre of the BRH

Tuesday, the President Michel Martelly, proceeded to the historic city center of Port-au-Prince at the inauguration of Convention and Documentation Centre of the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH) and the unveiling of a monument for the victims of the earthquake of January 2010, "Memorial to Victory" work of the Master Ludovic Booz.

In the presence of Prime Minister Evans Paul, of members of the Government and the business sector personalities and civil society, the President Martelly expressed his warm congratulations to the Board of the BRH and other actors involved in the construction of this modern building, convivial and resolutely open to the world.

This building is the first in Haiti to offer as many sustainable development criteria. This is a space for information, training and innovation, and a destination for congresses, exhibitions, conferences, shows and other international events, generating significant economic and intellectual benefits.

Covering an area of 6,000 m2 and a total seating capacity of over 1,500 people, the Convention and Documentation Centre of the BRH features among others : a multifunctional exhibition space of almost 900 m2, two control rooms equipped with facilities for simultaneous translation, four meeting rooms equipped with videoconferencing systems, a 300m2 home, a lobby of 380 m2, a restaurant that can accommodate 125 people, five office space on the rue Pavée, an area of documentation, an administrative area and a dressing for artists for the musical and theatrical performance.

Convinced that there are no large cities without iconic buildings and cultural sites, the Head of State invited other institutions to follow the example of the BRH, who erected in the heart of new Port-au-Prince this space of exchanges, meetings and international standard of research.
